Set in the beautiful hills of the Wairarapa, yet easily reached from several cities and towns.

ARRIVING BY CAR:

We are on State Highway 2 (SH2) -- about a two-hour drive from Wellington, about 20 minutes north (30km) of Masterton, and less than 10 minutes south of Eketahuna. Look for the orange AA "Artists' Residency Centre" sign.

A landmark from the south is Pukaha Mt Bruce National Wildlife Centre (above) - with its kiwi and other native birds (and to which NZPS residents enjoy complimentary entry). We are 2km (and 2 houses) north of Pukaha, on the same side of the road.

A landmark from the north is the white ANZAC Memorial Bridge. We are about 1.5km south, on the opposite side of the road.

If you are interested to rent a car, several residents have used Cross Country Rentals (in Masterton): www.crosscountryrentals.co.nz

TRAIN

Residents often take the 90 minute train service from Wellington (on the Wairarapa Line, operated by Metlink) to the terminus, Masterton, where they are picked up by the House Manager of NZ Pacific Studio. You can pay with cash on the train. The Monday-Friday service is different from the weekends and Public Holidays. Timetable: Wairarapa_Line_Train_Timetable.pdf.  Metlink also has a toll-free telephone number within NZ: 0800 801 700.

BUS

Tranzit Coachlines operates a bus service from Masterton to Palmerston North and can drop off or pick reserved passengers at Pukaha -- reservations are essential. Phone 06 370 6600 or email tours@tranzit.co.nz

BY AIR

Most residents fly into Wellington and then take the Wairarapa Line train service to Masterton (see above). Some residents fly into Palmerston North (which tends to be more expensive, as it is a smaller airport than Wellington) and are collected from there (about 60 min).
