Wellington-based writer Tracy Farr was the inaugural R.A.K. Mason Fellow, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Christine Hunt-Daniell and Derek Daniell. While in residence Tracy was working on her new novel with the working title The Hope Fault: an exploration into the marriage of science, art and fiction. Prior to taking up her residency, Tracy was longlisted for the Miles Franklin Award.
As part of her Fellowship Tracy offered the free one-day 'Workshop for Writers: Getting Started,' which was attended by 16 writers of the Wellington and Wairarapa region.
