Caroline Packham is a Melbourne based painter, illustrator and projection artist. Her projection works have been presented at festivals in Melbourne and regional Victoria, and she has exhibited in Melbourne and Sydney. Her art practice explores connections to nature, environmental themes and climate change. She is interested in how art and creative practice influence problem solving and futures thinking, and how these in turn influence art. Caroline is also an environmental engineer and educator, and was an artist in residence at Port Phillip EcoCentre.
During her residency at NZ Pacific Studio, she put work together for an exhibition titled "The Wanderers". The works explored wandering, an activity lost to many in the modern age of mobile phone navigation and social media. What does it mean to wander without purpose or set destination, disconnected from technology and social media, open to connecting with nature and unexpected thoughts and experiences? She created paintings and multimedia works for the exhibition and content for new projection works.
