Born in 1984, Sarah Park completed a Master's of Art and a Master's in Fine Art in Research at the University of New South Wales College of Fine Arts (UNSW COFA). During this time, she won the Jenny Birt Award for Painting & Drawing. Sarah was also selected as a finalist for many prizes and actively participated in a number of solo and group exhibitions. She lived in England from 2015 to 2017.
She writes about her plans for the residency, "My upcoming series of work will reflect my corporeal interactions and response to my physical interactions with the different environments and experiences that I have encountered in the past, and new environments I’ll be engaging in the future. I’ll be travelling in New Zealand during the summer and wish to take the opportunity to develop these ideas at the residency and its surrounding environment. New Zealand is the ideal location for me as I feel as though I have a close affinity with natural sites as it allows me to actively engage physically while mentally absorb the surrounds."
