Melanie Carter teaches composition and creative writing at The American University in Cairo. In 2015, she took a leave of absence and spent much of the next year in New Zealand, curious about the connections between creativity, Creativity, and the islands’ geological dynamism.
A former NZPS House Manager, she is returning this time to listen: to fall under the creative spell of Normandell again and to transcribe the voices of the house and garden. The end result of her stay, she hopes, will be the completion of the long poem she began in 2015.
