Katrina began her career as an English and literature teacher at the community college level and then she completed two more degrees in art and slowly migrated over to the art department where she teaches a great variety of courses. She love teaching beginner students and art history of the Americas North Central and South America and ancient architectural history. As well as teaching Katrina makes sculpture with clay and loves to work with fiber. She is currently painting both an acrylic and oil.
Since she has been in New Zealand Katrina has been very very taken with the forest and with Māori mythology. During her 10 day residency at NZPS she translated this wonderful relationship experienced within the New Zealand forest.
