Ong Si Hui is a multi-disciplinary visual artist born and raised in Singapore.
Formally trained in sculpting, she explores different material forms in her practice, and how they correlate with the human condition. Ong's works aim to capture the very transient essence of nature through a narrative that is abstract, yet deeply rooted in reality.
During her residency at NZPS, she began a new series inspired by the NZ landscapes and also developed a current series of sculptural relief work. As a way of getting back in touch with nature, she used more primal mediums, such as etching and carving.
